About The Layers Signature Leather – Thin, Durable, Strong. Not only is our cow leather very thin (thickness is 0.031″) but extremely strong, durable, able to withstand heavy use compared to goat or lamb skin. It’s also soft and kinda sexy! We wanted a product that would last years, not months. Our leather is also harvested as by-products of meat production. As a result the leather texture can have more natural defects, including scars, which lend character to the leather. This leather was determined after months of testing different materials and working with a tannery right here in Canada (est. 1969) to find the perfect leather for Kangaberry. Safe. Instantly Protects. Durable. Sleek. The Kangaberry was designed to have a special lining inside (the side facing your body) which shields you from constant radio waves being emitted from the phone (i.e. cell phone), up to and greater than 50dB at frequencies ranging from 10MHz to 3GHz (cell phones operate at 2.4GHz). For children this is very important because their body and nervous systems are still developing and the distance from the handset to the peripheral brain tissues is reduced (i.e. they are much more vulnerable to absorption of electromagnetic radiation) (6). More so, a child’s head being much smaller and their skulls are much thinner. GET NOTIFIED. BE THE FIRST TO GET ONE! Mobile web adoption has taken the world by storm, and is growing eight times faster than web adoption did in the 1990’s and early 200o’s. In fact, The percent of children with access to some type of “smart” mobile device at home (e.g., smart phone, tablet) has jumped from half (52%) to three-quarters (75%) of all children in just two years! It then won’t surprise you that by the age of eight, 72% of children have used a smart phone, tablet or mobile device. Unfortunately, when cell phone radiation standards were made 17 years ago, infants and toddlers were completely unrepresented in the research (7) and it wasn’t until recently that they were even considered to be consumers. Today, there is a whole market targeted on cellular devices towards children, with more than 700 apps on itunes targeted towards children. Yes, some apps may improve hand-eye coordination, but parents are not at ALL aware of the biological effect wireless radiation-emitting...

Mobile Cases That Reduce Radiation Never Sacrifice Health For Mobile Convenience Shielding radio waves away from you and prevent bacteria buildup on your phone! Society has put so much focus on developing the perfect case to protect your phone from damage, but what’s protecting you from your phone? Introducing the world’s first case that protects YOU from the constant radiation (i.e. electromagnetic radio waves) being emitted from your phone…and looks super sexy! Let’s face it, I am sure you have carried your cell phone around for more than an hour in your pocket over the past week. Do you even remember the last time you turned your phone off? New research actually shows that keeping your phone in your pocket for short periods of time can even impact fertility. Research shows that 44% of cell phone users have even slept with their cell phones by their side so that they didn’t miss a notification.[i] When considering that there are more than 6 billion cell phone subscribers globally (80% of world’s population), you ought to wonder the effect phones are having on our bodies? Especially when current statistics show that the average individual in North America spends 2.7 hours a day using their phone (watch high-definition movies on them, to make videos, issue voice commands, check email, go underwater, navigate with global positioning systems and surf the web in 3D). This is not to mention the fact that there are 690 million Google searches a month globally and 15.7 billion text messages sent each month! Do you ever wonder the effect this is having on your health? Especially since the...

Two years ago today I was having my bi-weekly brunch with my mother. While sipping down silver-needle white tea {yep, I am a huge tea fan if you don’t know}, we started to talk about ideas, life and health. One thing that was brought up was how people around us (i.e. friends, family) keep getting sick, despite eating super healthy and adapting to a pretty healthy life style. Later that evening, I visited my neighbors, who’s children I often babysat growing up. The mother mentioned that her kids (11 and 14) had trouble putting the phone away at night and sometimes she wondered the effect it was having on their (and other children’s) health? She even mentioned that her daughters friends sleep with darn device (turns out this isn’t that uncommon). It then dawned on me that what if all of our phone usage is effecting us biologically (aka our health)? Especially since new statistics show the average individual spends 2.7 hours on their phone every day (i.e. talking, texting, watching youtube videos, sending emails). Having a Masters of Biological Engineering (focusing on biomaterials), I immediately went to town researching all the scientific literature I could find and on how cell phone’s electromagnetic radiation was effecting us biologically and materials that could prevent this. What I found from renowned institutions around the world was SHOCKING to say the least (hence look at the picture below!); especially the health implications electromagnetic radiation from cell phones was having on children…and yet it seemed as though no one knew about it?! Most importantly, this data WAS reproducible and being shared on international conference stages around the world. Suddenly it hit me like a ton of...
